Caring Corner was built on a simple belief: every child deserves access to care, community, and opportunity. For more than two decades, Caring Corner has provided a safe and supportive space where children with medical needs can grow, learn, and connect, without compromising the medical care they require.
Licensed under California Title 22, Caring Corner operates seven days a week to provide skilled nursing, individualized education, and family support. We proudly partners with organizations like Kern 5 and Kern Regional Center that share our commitment to improving children's lives.

Caring Corner is a licensed pediatric medical daycare in Bakersfield built on one conviction: children with complex medical needs shouldn't have to trade a normal day for the care they require. Every child who walks through our doors is met with compassion, dignity, and the belief that their potential is limitless.
At Caring Corner, we love kids — and it shows.
Founded in 2003 by Darlyn Baker, Caring Corner was one of the first Pediatric Day Health Centers in Kern County, created to bridge the gap for children left behind by traditional healthcare and educational systems. Our experienced pediatric team integrates medical care with educational and developmental support by professionals who understand their unique needs.
We don’t separate care from learning, or medical needs from social needs. We create environments where all of it happens together. Children participate in art, music, sensory play, and education while receiving the medical attention they require. Each classroom is divided into hands-on learning centers designed for exploration and independence, with activities and materials customized to each child’s age, abilities, and interests.

At Caring Corner, medical care is never separate from learning. That's only possible because our staff sit at the same table. Certified teachers plan lessons with the nurses who know each child's care plan by heart , so families never have to choose between skilled medical support and real childhood.

Unlike traditional home health or hospital care, Caring Corner provides a warm, community-based environment where medical oversight happens seamlessly within each child’s daily routine.
Our newly remodeled 10,000-square-foot facility in Bakersfield is designed specifically for children with medical needs, featuring an adaptive indoor playground, sensory and therapy rooms, and specialized classrooms that balance comfort, safety, and discovery.
